All our beliefs rest on the absolute inspiration, authority and infallibility of the Bible as the unchanging Word of the Living God. They can therefore be checked against the Bible verses listed below.

About the Lord Jesus Christ

  • He is the Living God: ‘Our God and Saviour Jesus Christ’ (2 Peter 1:1, Hebrews 1:8)
  • He was born of a virgin and lived a perfect life: ‘He did no sin’ (1 Peter 2:22, Luke 1:30-35)
  • He died for sinners: ‘Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures’ (1 Corinthians 15:3, Romans 5:6-8)
  • He rose from the dead: ‘God…raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory’ (1 Peter 1:21, 1 Peter 3:22)
  • He is coming back: ‘I will come again, and receive you unto myself’ (John 14:3, Philippians 3:20)
  • He will reign over the whole earth: ‘He must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet’ (1 Corinthians 15:25, Revelation 20:4-6)
  • He will judge us all: ‘The Lord Jesus Christ …shall judge the living and the dead at his appearing’ (2 Timothy 4:1, Revelation 20:11-15)

About Salvation from Sin

  • We are all sinners: ‘All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God’ (Romans 3:23, Psalm 14:2,3)
  • Sin will be judged: ‘The wages of sin is death’ (Romans 6:23, Ezekiel 18:4)
  • We cannot save ourselves: ‘By grace are ye saved through faith…not of works, lest any man should boast’ (Ephesians 2:8-9, Jeremiah 13:23)
  • God’s answer is the death of Christ: ‘Christ hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God’ (1 Peter 3:18, Isaiah 53:6)
  • We must have a change of mind: ‘God …commandeth all men everywhere to repent’ (Acts 17:30)
  • We must believe what God says: ‘Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved’ (Acts 16:31)
  • We can be sure we are going to heaven: ‘He is able to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him’ (Hebrews 7:25)
